FOUNDER'S STORY

MEET THE FOUNDER: ALESSANDRO CHIASTRA

I spent a lot of time at Children’s Hospital Colorado when I was younger fighting for my chance to grow up and the fantastic team at Children’s Hospital was always there to support me. They empowered me to take control of my actions and taught me the importance of a growth mindset which allowed me to reframe my "setbacks" as opportunities for self-improvement. I am forever grateful for the lessons I learned while battling for my growth and hope to inspire you to take consistent daily action towards your goals using the same lessons.

I started Vitruvian Clothing Company to connect with like-minded individuals DEDICATED TO GROWTH who wear their growth mindset proudly. Vitruvian Clothing Company stands to support action-takers with resources for self-improvement and clothing for an active lifestyle.

THE VITRUVIAN STORY

The Vitruvian Man, an iconic illustration created by the Italian polymath Leonardo da Vinci around 1490, is a masterpiece that seamlessly blends art and science. Leonardo's drawing is based on the writings of the ancient Roman architect Vitruvius, who emphasized the importance of proportion and symmetry in architectural design. In his treatise "De Architectura," Vitruvius discussed the idea of an ideal human body as a model for creating well-proportioned buildings. Leonardo, inspired by these principles, produced the Vitruvian Man as a visual representation of the perfect human form within both a circle and a square, highlighting the harmonious relationship between the human body and geometry.

Leonardo da Vinci's Vitruvian Man has since become an enduring symbol of the Renaissance, encapsulating the era's fascination with humanism, scientific inquiry, and artistic expression. The drawing reflects the Renaissance belief in the interconnectedness of art, science, and the natural world. Leonardo's meticulous attention to detail and his commitment to accurate anatomical representation showcase his unparalleled skill as both an artist and a scientist. The Vitruvian Man not only serves as a testament to Leonardo's genius but also as a timeless emblem of the Renaissance's pursuit of knowledge and understanding.

Over the centuries, the Vitruvian Man has transcended its original context and evolved into a universal symbol representing the beauty and proportionality inherent in the human form. It has become an emblem of the intersection between art and science, illustrating the Renaissance spirit of inquiry and the quest for a deeper understanding of the world. The Vitruvian Man's enduring popularity is a testament to its timeless appeal and its ability to inspire generations with its harmonious blend of aesthetics and scientific precision.
